New app

Hi there, it’s been a while since the last podcast.

But I´ve got a good reason! I´ve been busy designing an app. And not just any old app, an app to learn English, and I’m really proud of it so let me tell you a little bit about it.

Ok so, it is designed for high level English learners, that is B2, C1 and C2 level, and the way it works is this. When you enter the app, which is powered by AI by the way, you are asked some questions about your English level, what your objective is, what the areas are that you need to work on most, and depending on your answers the app designs a personalised plan, just for you and your needs.

It designs daily and weekly activities for you to complete, you have loads of vocabulary and useful grammar exercises, including plenty of phrasal verbs and idioms, there’s connectors, listening and reading practice and more than anything there is lots of opportunity to practice your speaking and writing and get expert feedback from the AI coach, which is amazing I must say. The AI coach can also be used if you need extra help with anything. For example, let’s say you are having trouble with the past perfect tense, you can log in to your app and say “I’m having trouble with the past perfect tense” and the app will instantly come up with a lesson for you, explaining the grammar and giving you exercises to practice. Same thing if you want extra speaking or listening practice, if you don’t know the meaning of a particular word or whatever, the AI coach is always there to help.

In terms of material covered, I’ve designed the app to cover the most common topics that you encounter when using English, like health, technology, news, environment and so on. It’s also got all of the main grammar areas that you need, from past simple and modals verb up to mixed conditionals and inversions, oh yea.

Lastly, and importantly, it’s got a tracker which keeps a note of your progress. So, as the app learns more about you, your plan continuously updates and evolves, always giving you the best next step toward your language goals.

Alright, that’s the app, I’m super excited about it, if it sounds like something that would help you in achieving your language goals then check it out on studio.com/realexamenglish. I’ll put the link in the show notes too. The app is only available on iphone at the moment but will be available for android users in the new year, I’ll let you know as soon as it is available. So, iphone listeners, as the app has just launched there is a 20% discount available until Black Friday, November 28th, so if you would like to give it a go the link again is studio.com/realexamenglish.

And now that that’s done and launched, it’s back to making podcasts for me again. Expect a new episode out this week and then it’ll be season 6 to come after that!

Looking forward to it.

All the best,

Trevor
